The video begins where you use only the right arm/ wrist/hand to take the club head end of the club and swing the handle tip at a golf t placed in the ground @ where a ball would normally rest. You want to accelerate the grip end into the t.

Hello Ron. Practice. When you start repping your setup and do it over and over. You will get much faster and hitting the proper position quickly. Also, after enough reps of finding true balance. You will start to sense exactly where the weight needs to be every time without much time/effort.

Hello Ron. The single plane theory tends to take the arms more around the body. Depending on what version of the single plane theory it also limits body rotation. Most players will tend to hit it straight, but really suffer in the distance territory. That's why you don't see a bunch of it on tour.

Hi what I find interesting is that it seems that Tiger's head starts dropping during the backswing when his arms reach 9 o'clock. That would indicate that he is starting his weigh shift before the end of the backswing. Is the 9 o'clock position a good time to start the transition. Best, Marc

The center of his ankles looks to be at least three golf balls from the lines you drew. that would be over 4.5 inches not 2 inches. the inside edges of his shoes look to be about 2 inches. if the center of his ankles were 2 inches outside of neutral joint alignment then the inside edges of his shoes would be on the lines you drew. So i’m confused?

Hi David, the camera angle that we had was NOT directly face on and Tiger may be standing a fraction outside of NJA. The point of the video was to talk about stance width requirements. Unless I have a video that is 100% face on, then I can't be 100% accurate with the lines. Sorry for any confusion. Just know that we want you to stand 2 inches max outside of NJA.

Some points maybe you can help clear up related to these videos -- You advocate about a one inch bump of the hip to the right side to start the backswing but in Tiger's iron swing his right hip does not move at all to the right, it just rotates. Also noticed that his right foot is slightly splayed, is that related to the hip rotation? Second, even though his ball is back in his stance, it looks like his iron is bottoming out correctly for his ball position, not way ahead of it. My point of confusion - since the spine is tilting more on the downswing for everyone, doesn't the bottom of the swing arc change from the location of the shirt logo and if one person has a steeper tilt on the downswing than another person, or less tilt for a shorter club than a longer club, wouldn't that also bottom out at different points? Is there some kind of mechanical model that would show the exact swing bottom at different spine tilts? Thanks!

Hi Paul, I did NOT mention anything about his weight shift to his trail side in this video. Often times, we focus on just the areas as they pertain to RST and NOT the things we disagree with. Not really sure why he is splaying his trail foot out. It could be to allow for more hip rotation on one side of the ball. The bottom of the arc should never change providing you are moving the lead shoulder into a stacked position at impact, regardless of the length of the club. The lead shoulder is the primary pivot point in the golf swing and you can see more info on this in the determining correct ball position video on the site. Hope this info helps clarify.
