Hello Rotary instructors do you have any videos or advice regarding rollout I have worked hard on getting a better GIR percentage so I’m hitting more greens I need to rethink my strategy on the longer shots into GIR pins and the longer par 3s or where the pin is on the back of the green sometimes. So yesterday I played and had a par 3 shot 185 yards to the pin I took the shot and hit the yardage pin high at about six foot from the pin however the ball bounced high and rolled off the back into the first cut of rough not a bad shot I made par but I want my GIR percentage up. I was thinking of just pacing it out on each hole it sounds anal haha ???? but hey I want to know plus I will start using my laser more often to know the shot. There is a 12/1 rule for chipping is there such a thing for other shots and trajectory for other shots or taking spin off with irons which could be applied if I played other courses or is it just experience? Thanks

Hello Ronald. I haven't heard of a 12/1 rule for normal shots. However, for more GIR's this is why players rarely shoot for the stick. What I mean is if you have the total green depth you need to measure the yardage you need to hit it for the particular shot. The pin may be 185 and 5 paces from the back but also 25 paces from the front. You don't want to hit it 185 but 175 perse. This is why pin location and green depth are very important.
