When I watch Tigers swing for example, it certainly isn’t effortless, right?

When I watch Tigers swing for example, it certainly isn’t effortless, right? I mean he’s hitting the ball with some force. My release is much better and I’m throwing the club better but I’m confused. First, I see chuck say load the right hip but don’t push hard, necessarily, stating that the hips only add a small amount of additional speed. But instead keep a quiet body and rotate as the club pulls you around. Then I see a video of squash the bug and videos of pros very obviously exerting themselves quite a lot and throwing the club forcefully. So I have two questions. Is it not exactly effortless power but more efficient use of the power you generate? But you still have to get after it to generate 110-120mph club head speed? Secondly, I’m fine tuning my “baseball” swing into golf swing and wonder am I supposed to forcefully try to release the right hand at the ball or relax at that point and try to allow the hands, both hands, to release as naturally as possible for maximum speed? I hope that all makes sense. I’ll submit a swing soon. PS I guess after all that what I’m really asking is this, should I be able to have a fairly quiet body, no big push from right leg, no big shoulder turn, and still be able to generate club head speeds of 110-120 with relative ease?

Hello Greg. Lots to digest, but I think you hit the nail on the head with the last question. Can you create 110-120 effortlessly? Yes. I am a Lead Side Releaser so I can't add push. And, my driver speed is in that range. If you ask my students they will tell you that it looks like I'm doing relatively little and the ball just jumps. When you are going for the moon ball, or over the mountain hit. You will have to add some extra legs and force. Squish the bug, etc. But, that is for max distance. Not everyone is trying to hit it 350  . With more efficient use of your width, leverage and release you can generate a lot of great speed with minimal effect on the body.
