Chuck: Dave here...long time member.

Hi Chuck: Dave here...long time member. Sorry for being confused, but I'm having difficulty understanding some recent videos...on one hand, you describe how important it is to use the right hand and wrist for speed while keeping the body relatively still. Then on the other hand you show the tennis player and fighters turning their cores rapidly to create speed. Sorry again, but these seem to be the opposite of one another. Appreciate your thoughts and comments. Many thanks, keep up the good work! Dave

Hello Dave. The difference you may be struggling a bit with is lead vs trail side release. Also, deceleration to create acceleration in the club. Independent whipping club power. How may I help? The simplest way to think about it is the lead side will require more work from the lead wrist to square the club as the trail will feel more like the core/body is doing the vast majority of the work if the grip is correct.
Hi Craig: Thank you for the reply. Actually, it is not the lead side-trail side I'm confused about, it is the concept of whether to swing predominantly with your arms and release your wrists while keeping the body relatively quiet, or keeping your arms relatively quiet and using your core (and turning it rapidly) to power the swing. Appreciate it if you could explain the apparent differences. Thanks! Dave
