David, You need to post a video with the face on view to see your release, although from the down the line view I can see that you have a chicken-wing going on. It does appear that the first move down from the top of your backswing is your hands instead of your legs, and this usually leads to casting the club with the resulting flip release and chicken-wing follow through.

Your swing will definitely be helped bu this but not what i need for phase 1
I'm no expert David, but I think Mike is on the right track. I'd say: Try no-thumbs swings and left-arm-only swings to make sure you aren't pushing on the shaft (I have to tell myself "never release it" - because it happens automatically if I do the rest right) Try to get the hips moving earlier and further to hit that tush line with the lead hip AND allow your arms to come DOWN and shallow more in transition Just my 2 cents.
