Guys, my question is about trail side swing and the release.

Hey guys, my question is about trail side swing and the release. One video is all about essentially holding off the release to keep the club face on target longer. Then he starts discussing the throwing drills and the quick release. Is it one or the other or both?

Hello Greg. Both. The club in shorter shots (short game, 9 to 3, etc) don't need much of a throw because the wrists stay a little quieter and the rotation of the core will bring the club around. As the swing gets longer the wrists start to set more and you have angle that you can deliver to add speed. This is where you will see more of the throw/j release to maximize the hand speed.
