New to the site and going thru phase 1.

New to the site and going thru phase 1. After one day of chipping I realize how much my right hip is injected into the swing either by pushing off the foot or after getting into the gdp position it wants to fire and produce early extension. Even in that small of swing. Holding onto the club in order to control the face only seems to exasperate the problem. It almost feels as if my left hip stops rotating and then early extension takes over. My lower right back is really sore. Any thoughts or suggestions that can have me get a feel for keeping the right side more out of it. Obviously if I can’t keep it out of chipping I’m dead in a full swing. Thanks!

Hello Bradley. I would be happy to take a look at the movement if you would like to post it here. The lead hip usually stalls out because of over working the arm into impact, or you are adding a sliding movement with the hips. This will tend to make the lead leg heavy and not want to post/clear correctly. I would check how much you are moving laterally with your weight and that the trail arm is supinating and not pronating. The trail hip activates for a reason. We just need to find it's trigger point.
