Recently I’ve seen some YouTube videos discussing grip pressure in pros.

Hello, Recently I’ve seen some YouTube videos discussing grip pressure in pros vs ams of various handicaps and interestingly the data said that pros grip with more pressure at address, less at top and transition, and finally at 70% maximum at impact with lead hand. As these were averages, do we assume these are lead side or trail side release patterns? It would be helpful I think if Chuck made a video on how much pressure to apply at various positions. Apparently there are devices now that can be used in the grip to measure such things. The data showed very light pressure in trail hand - like 15% which intuitively makes me think the data was composed of lead side players.

Hello Daniel. Thanks for the suggestion. Lead or trail the data seems to be set on the pressure. The initial part of the swing needs to be quick. Most amateurs go too slow. You get started with the momentum and coil. It will tend to lighten in the "middle phases" and ramp up as you get into impact. Think about swinging a kettle bell or medicine ball. When do you feel the grip tends to tighten?
