I have posted in Facebook about this before but my constant struggle is getting.

I have posted in Facebook about this before but my constant struggle is getting the hips opened 45* and then shoulders square to slightly open at impact. At best I can get hips to be 10-20* open but then my shoulders still are not square to target line and definitely not slightly open. Lately I've been trying to really focus on clam shell drill and dead drill together but I'm really allowing my shoulders to be pulled open more by my left hip. Is it ok when doing these slower motion movements to get my body in a more extreme position where hips are more than 45* and shoulders are about 10-15* open just to force my brain to feel more open but knowing when I go full tilt it obviously won't be too they level. I'm just trying to figure out best method to get this change because it is my biggest struggle of being patient enough with arms to allow this when I go to full swing.

Matt the first thing to check would be tension and sequencing. If you start the swing by moving the shoulders a lot and the hips are static then you will build so much tension by the time ur at the top you wont have a choice but for them to kove together. To test this make some swings starting smoothly with your hips first by loading into the right hip and then the hips should have a chance to start first. Keep in mind ur not trying to aggressively fire the hips, just let them begin to move back to the left. The goal of the backswing shouldnt be to feel tight and loaded in the upper body at the top. It should be to be relaxed enough that hips and and shoulders arent glued together so the hip get the slight head start they need.
A big cause of not having your hips open 45 degrees at impact is not fully straightening your left leg in the post up move of the DEAD drill. Straightening the left leg allows the hips to rotate more. If you are not fully straightening your left leg, the cause is often having your left hip and knee beyond neutral joint alignment(NJA) which makes it harder to post up on the left leg. Check your face on position in the mirror, and see if you are going beyond NJA. If so, you need to correct this so you can post up better on your left leg, which in turn will allow you to open your hips better into impact.
