So, I have watched the Venkatesh Video, now, 3 times and to me this is Nirvana! You shared with me that the next video that followed was the one on Making the "J", and I understand why. But what I don't understand is why ALL other videos are not confirming what was discovered in the Venkatesh video of "swatting at the bottom" and all focus should be on that discovery. If everything falls into place from that focus, why would this not be more emphasized? As I watched this video, I also observed that as he came down in downswing, his right arm folded naturally and smoothly with the elbow automatically going into the body, then the forearm moved into the Goat position, and the wrist uncocked naturally at the bottom. There was none of this quick fascia crap going on, it was allowing the body, more importantly, the arms feel the weight of the club via gravity unfold and then as if swatting a fly at the bottom to gain the natural speed of the wrists hit the ball. Chuck, in fact , said in that video, all one has to really do is not worry about al of the mechanical aspects of the swing, just focus on how to get the arms down to be able to SWAT at the ball. If all of tha is true, why go through the putter drills, chipping, pitching, wedges into the full swing? Those things are nice and worthwhile and allows one to better understand the control of the face of the club, but for those of us that have struggled all of our lives with the full swing, using the arms way too much, it seems to me that the most important factor is this Swat at the bottom. That is the "FEEL" everyone should focus on. From there refinement would be in order such as how Chuck then worked with Mr. Venkatesh on swinging more from the inside in the last part of the video. Am I missing something?
Craig, on training aids. I found you guys late and was not able to get a rotary connect. I was wondering if you could suggest any aids. At preset I have an Izzo which if you are not aware of. It is an elastic band that goes around your upper arms to keep them togeather while you swing. The other device I have is a Greg Norman secret. Any ideas. P.S. what do I need to do to get lessons from you. Once a month more or less. Thankks for anything you can do.
I am following the GOAT series (trail side dominant) and I have a question about divots and Low Point Control. I have watched all of Chuck's videos and as I recall, he says with TSD divots are not of concern, also implying that Low Point Control is not a concern. Is this true or a wrong assumption on my part. Is Compression of the ball a concern with TSD or is it all about snapping the wrists at impact?
https://www.facebook.com/reel/1293260902258240 We don't need the range or weight room, just ballet lessons.
I am 77 but have been playing since I was 11. I notice the training seems to assume we are right side dominant. I am left handed and took up the game right handed due to the lack of lefty choices back then. My right hand is so arthritic that I cannot even close it fully. Luckily it can still hold a golf club and I play some every week. I attached a picture. I am not sure how well I will be able to do right now hand only exercises. It still possible that this training will work for me.

Craig: Where do I find instructions on how to use Goaty? I now have a tripod that I can use for a setup in my garage so I can train without having to go out on the rage. Tom Helfrich
I am a disciple of the Pete Cowen golf theory. It seems to fit me as I have improved a lot. Can Goaty work for me if I want to continue to follow the Cowen style? Ed
