Craig, finally getting the hang of the wedge.

Hi Craig, finally getting the hang of the wedge. Question without turning over the wrists, and leaving the face open and pointing towards the sky after impact … on average how far should these clubs max out at? 58 degree how far ball flies? 54 degree how far on average does ball fly? And on average how far does a 50 degree wedge fly? Respectfully , Tony Palos.

Hello Tony. The average really depends on the player. Also, you are talking about wedge shots (not chipping and pitch). There will be some turnover it won't stay perfectly facing the sky on a wedge like chipping and pitch. Your goal is to get the 56 around 80 yards which would be a solid wedge shot. The other one's hard to say because players speed vary so much. I tend to take some towels to place down range or use a range finder to try and map out my yardages.
