Craig. The GOAT chipping drills have us using a 60 degree wedge.

Hi Craig. The GOAT chipping drills have us using a 60 degree wedge. Somewhere Chuck mentions that the 60 is the most difficult wedge to chip with. Do you have any general guidelines for when to use which wedge for chipping, or is this more of a practice with your different wedges and develop your own feel for which wedge to use for various situations? Thanks!

Hello Stanley. More a practice scenario. Most players tend to use the 60 when they want to add some loft/spin to the shot. The 56, 54, 52 --> can tend to give you more roll out because the loft is less. Once you master your work with the 60 try to mix in different wedges with the same technique. You will see what ball flight/spin characteristics change so you can take advantage of them on the course.
