As a facebook conscientious objector, I thank you for making this group. Couple of things I'd like help with: 1. I feel PAIN in my lead knee on the downswing. It's definitely golf-related. 2. I have trouble staying in the 'box' at address once I grab the club. I already have horrible posture, but I feel my shoulders protract (?) when I add the club to my right hand. 3. Overall progress or feedback? (BTW: My miss is either a pull, or a wide open club face shank to the right. Last year I was horrrrrrible and could barely hit an 8 iron 100 yards so i've seen drastic improvements since joining Rotary Swing.)

Ok first thing is the Wall Drill to get rid of the excess head movement. Thats rule 1. Secondly you have to relax that lead shoulder at address. Note how elevated it is? This creates a TON of tension and will make you want to overuse your shoulders and the hips wont be able to clear

Thanks, Chuck. Will do.
The pain in your left knee has to do with you getting your left knee to far in front of your ankle on the downswing. You are not posting, you are .... pushing(sliding) your left hip bone forward. But the problem originates with your strong grip and head movement like Chuck said. Having such a strong grip and head movement to the right will typically cause you to slide back to the left with the chest, shoulders and hips all square to the target and you trying to force the club face open. I suggest you practice swinging with the lead hand only with no impact back. My guess is that it will take you a few times before you can keep your balance. But when you are able to keep better balance, many of the issues will have been sorted, including your left hand grip.
My observations: you need more shoulder turn in your take away - remember you should be 80-90* shoulder turn when the club is level with the ground. You're initiating the transition from the top down rather than the ground up (i.e. your head and shoulders lead your downswing then your lower body has to catch up to support your upper body so you don't fall over). I imagine the transition being out of sequence this way could potentially cause some undue strain on your left knee. In the video you posted watch where your at compared to the background - your head is behind the door trim and finishes will inside the door, etc. For the head you've got 6-8 inches of movement, too much!
Bradley, From face on I see way too much lateral head movement. Practice the DEAD drill with your forehead against the wall . Chuck has a video for this but I forget the title. Down the line- You need to practice the Clamshell drill, as your hips move towards the ball on the backswing, which ,to quote Chuck, is no bueno. Good luck, Mike B
