Craig, Lately, I haven't had as much fun being on the golf course.

Hello Craig, Lately, I haven't had as much fun being on the golf course. I push myself very hard because pursuing golf is my dream. My golf game does not seem to improve with my sessions at the moment. I generally believe that hard work pays off. Working the extra mile is worth it. And it is exactly what I do, I am training to the limit. Therefore, I push myself to the course even on days I may not feel it. My goal is to play a consistent round of golf. However, lately it feels I am making no progress at all. I feel so frustrated right now. And it is then that I lose faith. It is then, when I am asking myself, why am I pushing myself so hard - what am I pushing myself for? I wish to play consistent golf so very much. Without any question, I am willing to go the extra mile! Work my plan! And that’s the key, A PLAN. I need a straightforward training plan. It seems without a straightforward training schedule I feel somewhat lost on the course as well as in my mind. I need guidance. Without knowing how, when and what to train, I feel puzzled. For example, in addition to golf, I also train calisthenics: here I have a weekly training plan which I follow to the tee. I don't think about whether I do chest or work on my biceps, my weekly plan has it arranged for me. My training plan gives me the feeling that if I pull it threw, I will achieve great progress and success. I simply believe! A straightforward training plan makes it fun to train, gets me excited, motivated beyond measure and allows me to push beyond my limits. Therefore, I would appreciate it a lot if you could help me create a training plan for golf. So that I can fulfill my dream, reach my full potential, know that my golf game is improving every day; I am moving forward, making progress, and becoming stronger every day. Things to consider to create a weekly plan: My time during the regular school season: 1. During school days, I have time for at least 1 hour of training 2. During weekends every day 3. I could register myself every weekend for a tournament My time during the holidays starting July 24th – September 7th: 1. I can play the entire day every day 2. I could register for a tournament at any time. How often would you recommend me playing a tournament or playing an 18-hole round while trying to change my swing mechanics? Best wishes, Jayden.

Hello Jayden. I can help you with a plan, but my knowledge for your particular needs will be limited based on I haven't worked with you that much knowing the overall game. I completely understand getting burnt out and not enjoying when you don't know the destination you're striving for. If you want to play competitive golf you can't delete playing golf. All too often players quit playing golf while making a change. Initially, I understand but you need the course to test the skills and where changes need to be made. Tiger dedicated 2-3 hours of practice and either 9 or 18 holes for his training sessions. I know some days you are limited on time and others you will have more time for example when not in school or on holiday. Depending on where you're at with teh game. As you move through GOAT Code you should be able to still play. I would at least get in 1 round a week and tournaments will be to your comfort level with mechanics. Meaning you feel comfortable enough to swing without a laundry list of mechanical thoughts. So, you can just play and focusing on scoring. Golf has two elements. The swing, but also know how to play. Two different animals. Same thing like your gym training. Section of your time for full swing and short game work depending on where you are in the program. But, also give yourself a shot and trying to apply it on the course.
