I’ve been working on trail side drive and core rotation to start downswing.

I’ve been working on trail side drive and core rotation to start downswing. I’ve been feeling my arms being pulled down by this action. I’m guessing this is the free ride your arms take that I’ve always heard about. Question is, I now feel like I’m late with the release, I sort of feel like if I drive hard to start, I can snap it much earlier, is this the case? Also, if I’m trying to hit a 3/4 shot, would I still feel the core pulling my arms?

Hello Andrew. 3/4 shot would still have the core directing the arms. Yes. This is the feel of the fall, or automatic dropping of the arms. It depends on what you mean by drive hard. Longer clubs can certainly feel like you need to start with some gas (squish the bug) so your vertical post can be done swiftly to throw the club harder.
