I’ve been a member of Rotary Swing for a few years now.

Hi! I’ve been a member of Rotary Swing for a few years now. Love what Chuck (with the help of Craig and Kristen) have created here. In all those years as a members I am still to takefull advantage of all the expertise in here. I’m 67 years old and been playing for roughly 53 years. I’ve got a handicap of 4. My main issues are: 1. Loosing distance 2. Being highly irregular 3. Trying/thinking about way too much “fixes” all the time (while practicing and playing) 4. Not getting better year over year 5. Always trying to recreate a “feeling” that worked somehow the day before and cannot duplicate it the day after. It's been very frustating this summer rarely sensing a well hit/compress ball and spending hours and hours on the driving range. Also used to be a great putter and I lost that to... I loved the Dead Drill concept and the C4 concept. Now I see that “The GOAT” is taking center stage on the site. I’ve been guilty of starting often the different “concepts” without following out of them as I should have done. I was also starting those in the off-season because I didn’t want to overhaul my swing while still playing in the season. I didn’t complete/follow-up mainly because the lack of feedback in the off season. In the winter I wasn’t seeing tangible results with just hitting a ball into a net. Last spring I built myself a golf simulator set-up in my basement to be able to play during the winter but most importantly practice and better my golf swing “with feedback” (and data). I’ve started to read about the “GOAT” system, and I’m surprised to see that compare to the DEAD DRILL or the C4 system now I see a much more “active” right hand (for a right hand player) but it look very promising (and different). I’m seeking help from you to see what my best course of action for this off-season. Would love to "reset" my swing and go thru the entire GOAT system (or C4 if you say so). Also, how/when should I use my unused golf swing reviews to have maximum benifits/impact going thru this? I have for sure flaws that will not be covered in the GOAT program that I have to adress as well most probably. Looking mostly to have the best chance of success thru this off season. Thank you. Luc

Hello Luc. Thanks for the compliments. The main component is all in or nothing. Both Lead and Trail Side Patterns take commitment in the action. They are however 2 different movements. You have to pick which side you want to be dominant with. Chuck is trail (GOAT) and I am lead (C4). GOAT tends to lend itself more to the modern power player who are trail side dominant/struggle with lead side movements. I think the best (whichever path you choose) is to have a review first. Let myself or another instructor help build the plan for you. (just let whoever is doing the review know). That way you can use the following reviews as checkpoints to your steps whether it be GOAT or C4. Set about the goals you want to achieve (distance, consistency, etc). But, use a helpful eye so you can have hyper focus on what your swing really needs  .
