Can you please advise if there is an optimal position for gripping the club.

Hi, Can you please advise if there is an optimal position for gripping the club along the shaft handle. In other words, should I be looking to hold the club with my lead hand as close as possible to the butt end of the shaft handle, in the middle of the handle or down the shaft towards the bottom end of the handle? Does it depend of what type of shot I am taking? I am speaking more about iron play rather that driver. I am currently working on pitching.

Hello Derrick. Most players are just inside the butt end of the club. You want to get as close to the butt end without the grip/palm hanging over the edge. This way you can maximize width.
