RS team, I recently rejoined after a few years away.

Hi RS team, I recently rejoined after a few years away. Time to get my game back in check! I went through the lead side dominant course about 5-6 years back. This was before the release of C4 and Axiom (I think it was just called Rotary Swing Academy). I put in a good amount of time, and it paid off - handicap got down to high single digits. I took a good amount of time away from the game and currently play monthly and practice sporadically. I'm shooting high 80s/low 90s. There is still a golfer in there, just inconsistent. When I rejoined Rotary Swing today, I realized the focus has really shifted to a trail-hand-dominant style of teaching. Given my history with Rotary Swing + the context I provided, do you recommend I transition to the GOAT model or use the older C4 model to reinforce what I learned previously? I don't want to mess with a serviceable swing unless the GOAT method has proven superior and other students have successfully made the switch without too much of a negative effect in the short-term. Thank you so much for your help! Can't wait to be going low again Matt Canzoneri

Hello Matt. Welcome back! There is no right or wrong answer here. For ex: I am still a very lead side dominant swinger and right handed. Lead side works for me due to the low maintenance and effort with the body. However, if I needed to work on hitting the ball further I would start shifting more my focus to the trail side movement as I am much more power driven with my naturally trained side. My suggestion is go hit a few balls solo armed each arm. See which one provides better feedback. Which one is easier? Feels more natural? The modern player is more trail side dominant because it's a distance driven game. Being how you are just getting back into the swing I would give GOAT a shot because it builds from the short game back. You will know you answer on the sooner side if it's the best option for you. We have seen much faster builds vs lead side when retooling the swing using your natural dominant side.
