Plan B

Webinar: Not long ago the throw from the top was the Engine. I want to make it that again - for me. I keep Goaty's backswing, but drop the L glute pulling (and timing) in the downswing and make the throw the main thing to focus on as my plan B. Your comments and advise on this?

Asle, I get the appeal of simplifying to the throw, but here's the thing: the L glute pull and the throw aren't separate engines—they're linked. The glute initiates the pelvis rotation that creates the space and sequencing for an effective throw from the top. If you drop the glute timing, you're likely to either throw too early (losing ground), throw with the upper body (losing lag), or both. Plan B isn't a bad instinct when something feels stuck, but before you pivot, I'd ask: what's actually breaking down in your current swing? Is it timing, sequencing, or feel? GOATY's backswing plus intentional glute work in the downswing is the proven path. If the timing piece is the friction point, that's worth drilling specifically—not abandoning the engine. What's the main issue you're running into?
