Force plate data to demonstrate the clockwise movement of pressure in the.

Force plate data to demonstrate the clockwise movement of pressure in the swing, the timing and sequence of the motion, using Justin Rose as a tour pro example. Please let me know if this helpful or if something needs more clarity.

Hi Chuck. I find this very useful. One suggestion that would make it even more useful for me: end the video with the entire swing in (super) slo-mo and highlight the highest pressure point throughout the swing. I may be the only one, but the frequent moves forward and backward make it more difficult for me to follow clearly – looking at the same time at the pressure traces and where JR is in his swing is hard with the back and forth. Also, I was already familiar with the overall concepts of the pressure traces but it may not be the case for all. Hope this is the kind of feedback you are looking for.
Very helpful, clarifies for me how the merry go round action (clockwise action) in the right foot matches up with the actual golf swing when starting from stationary at address with the club in hand. A data point of one isn't statistically significant, but this really settled something I was wondering about after the intro Axiom lesson yesterday - timing of trail foot clockwise movement vis a vis the dynamic swing motion.
Hi Chuck, I found this video very helpful in demonstrating the rhythm and pace of the merry go round, especially to show how quick it is, so the full speed video towards the end twice was really useful. I would suggest running it at full speed another time or two while you are continuing to talk as opposed to manipulating the video back and forth the several times while you are talking at that point because it is slightly distracting. You end with one final manipulated slower demo of the heel-toe and that is a helpful reminder. Loved this video as I was initially struggling with how quick (and therefore easy and relaxed) the motion was focusing instead on going too slowly around the merry go round and this video reinforces the speed with visual. Thanks!
Wow, this is great to see in action. I did some swings on my plate but did not have anything to reference it against. The more I practice the more evident it becomes that the hardest part of this is to just stop thinking and re-route to feel.
This was very helpful in understanding the clockwise pressure on the foot.
Great video to help me see the feel. I hope that makes sense as I am getting rid of swing thoughts which is so liberating, I do like to go back and analyze my videos to see if what I am feeling correlates to what you are teaching us. I would agree with Martin that adding a slow motion at the end would let me see the pressure on the heat map at the same time as the position of his swing.
Finally got a chance to review this video... really cool... things I found interesting/takeaway.... I was actually thinking about this part this morning (and you alluded to it in the Korda video.) The left foot is doing a fairly significant counter clockwise motion.... also, didn't realize how much pressure went to the toe on the left initially... was thinking it would be more to heel. .... basically a figure 8.... I'm pretty sure you have also done a video about a figure 8 motion in the past For me, focusing on the left foot move clearly fixes the shallowing issue very well which may end up being as important as anything to getting the club face in the right position and hitting consistent shots, but Just as I was tending to slide back without a turn, I'm tending to slide forward more without turning when just focused on the left foot.... again, hitting nice shots with good trajectory and direction, but thinking I'm leaving some serious distance on the table Also, what appeared the most interesting.... and this was a little hard to see without running through the video itself on my own, but think it right..... the timing of when the downswing started in relation to the "merry go round" as was the amount of turn that occurred prior to getting to the heel... both... much much earlier than I thought.... this is probably my most important takeaway.... I don't want to get into the weeds on this in my swing thoughts, but will need to pay attention to this going forward without screwing things up! At least on the backswing side.... I'm thinking I need to "feel" like I'm fully turned before getting on the merry go round.... Fully realize that a proper turn is causing the weight to already start... I think the rest will take care of itself after that, but will see. Sorry for the super long somewhat rambling post.
This is fantastic, Chuck. The force plate data from the tour pro's exactly shows what you guys are talking about. For me, I always had to REALLY focus on getting enough hip depth on the backswing or else I would end up too close to the ball at impact. Now, all I have to think about is syncing up clockwise circles in my upper (I "feel" the circle in my hands) and lower body (R foot for me) and somehow everything just works! More hip depth than I've ever had with literally 5 minutes of practice. Hips clearing better than before just by getting to my R toe. But specifically with the videos, I really like seeing the tour pro examples with the data/visuals that back everything up.
