I have a question about getting the left arm to move down off the chest in the downswing.

I have a question about getting the left arm to move down off the chest in the downswing. I can "turn off" the correct muscles when doing the DEAD drill to allow the left arm to move properly and Craig said I was moving it properly in the drill in my last review. However, every time I go to hit a full shot, I go back to my old pattern. I know I need a lot more reps. Here is my question: I understand the lower body should initiate the downswing and the left arm should just fall into place if there isn't too much tension. However, while working on this move, is there anything wrong with actively trying to move the left arm down into position to help speed up the process? It just seems like it's going to a LONG time for me to get the feel of not having tension in those arms and allowing the lower body to dominate. Thanks.

Hello Scott. That is the biggest problem with most golfers. They actively try to bring the arms and hands down too fast/soon. You need twice as much lower half vs arm movement. The better the lower half works the easier it will be to turn off the arms. Focus on the legs to turn off the arms.
