I was unable to practice or play for a prolonged period with L4/L5 back and.

I was unable to practice or play for a prolonged period with L4/L5 back and sciatic nerve pain The DEAD DRILL and nine to five drill have been my go to refreshers since resuming I am right handed. I have found that focussing ONLY on my left knee with either drill and during a game to be very helpful (until putting takes over the brain) In the takeaway and backswing I “feel” my left knee moving forward and down slightly In transition it feels to be back at address position Through impact it feels to be way back, relatively, a consequence of the left hip going back and up no doubt I once paid heavily for a golf lesson where the key takeaway was “swing shoulder to chin backswing and downswing What a disastrous golf tip without the HOW TO which thankfully Rotary Swing provides . Old Fred Trueman the great and witty Yorkshire and England fast bowler and golf lover was once asked in an interview what he thought of today’s golf tip in the newspaper, to which he replied “ Terrific if you can remember the other 488” It is apparent when I watch myself in a mirror doing my favourite drills with my personal single thought of “left knee” that the lead shoulder does in fact move under the chin backswing but more importantly I suppose is the lag chin down under the chin through impact. It is not a conscious thought by me to move the shoulder to the chin but a function of the correct prior body movement.RST FUNDAMENTALS ? Being told move chin to shoulder was a failed swing in the making Watching the Honda Classic recently(good win by the Aussie ) I did not notice one professional golfer who did not have the lag shoulder down under the chin after impact. Interested to hear of other members mind decluttering swing thoughts

Hello Davo. I'm glad you saw the light on all the golf bandaids and tips in the instruction world. The lead shoulder will move under the chin as a byproduct of pull with the trail side in the backswing and proper shoulder plane. The shoulders will lag behind the hip turn coming down because the legs are the star of the show and you don't want to actively swing down from the top. A good way to picture in the hips will roughly be about 45 degrees ahead of the shoulder turn throughout the downswing.
