For your reply But i am still confused the right hand on the club is 3.

Thanks for your reply But i am still confused the right hand on the club is 3 to 4 inches lower than the left hand the fulcrum is surely 3 to 4 inches lower so in theory my top hand should be my right hand ( right handed golfer) to use the full length of the club if you are right hand dominant ,the tape drill doesnt quite explain this Thanks

Going lead hand low in the grip though moves the pivot/fulcrum back to the lead shoulder socket. Same thing in lead hand low putting stroke. Going trail side dominant normal grip the hand is a touch lower which is why you have to maintain the flexion and the arm comes more across/in front of the chest. Changing the grip as you say would in effect now make the lead hand back longer again.
