So I’m really in a good groove this year even though I have only been out 4 times. Shooting 15 strokes lower than last year and more how I was in 2006. I do not know if it’s the Axiom or not but it’s working. After hitting 12 fairways yesterday which is dream zone for me, I ended up with an 83 with 39 putts. My ball striking and direction have never been better and if it weren’t for the fuzzy greens that were recently aerated I would have easily been in the 70’s. That was why I joined RS about 5 years ago. I went through the first few steps year one and was striking the ball quite well. The next year I added the release part, had unlimited swing reviews for the whole summer and was hitting it long but with a two way miss. Kept it up through the next summer but never was consistent with distances or direction and my handicap ballooned. LAst year was a total disaster as I added a shank to my then disaster of a game. I had so many swing thoughts I was paralyzed. So this year no reviews, no lessons, just reviewing what worked for me with RotarySwing, the dead drill and now Axiom. I have been concentrating on shortening my backswing and the merry go round. WOW! First time out after Axiom I shot 83 playing Myakoba while vacationing in Mexico. I was super stoked with my iron play hitting 70% of GIR and had 26 putts. Came back home to snow and cold but finally got out yesterday in 45 degree weather after a few range sessions prior shot an 83; 12 fairways, 10 greens and 39 putts! Greens were recently aerated and long due to the weather. My only thoughts now are to complete a few easy swings doing the dead drill and getting off the MGR. I was ready to quit RS a few times as my game was so bad and I was truly frustrated. Now I am so glad I stuck with it. I told the pro after my round that my 5 iron should now be categorized as a deadly weapon because it’s so accurate at 185 yards. That’s further than I hit it before RS and it's in 45 degree weather. Thanks Chuck and Craig! Golf is finally fun again. Can’t wait to get on he course again.
