Been thinking of these two positions and how tommy gets into them.

Been thinking of these two positions and how tommy gets into them. Not sure if my take is right but for me to open up this much pre impact and have my arms not fall super far away from my chest my ribcage needs to be in a forward crunched position. Goes the same for the image with the look of a lot of sidebend. If i have a lot of forward crunch of the ribcage my release will have the same look. First of all i wonder if my take on this is right, that it is due to quiet some forward crunch (meatball posture?) Of the ribcage that creates these positions. My followup question on this is whether you would get in to that crunch through very relaxed core muscles that reacts to the engagment of the lower body or if it is through a very engaged core area that he is keeping connected through a lot of muscular effort. Reason i've been dwelling on this is that i believe i've pinpointed through feels that the reason why i sometimes get a very flat backswing and that my core and shoulders are too slow to open resulting in closed shoulders at impact and underotated hips is due to my lumbar muscles (hope that is translated right) getting very active in coiling the torso in the backswing. Was wondering how to solve this and figured the answer to tommys positions might solve it.
