Recently, I heard the great baseball manager Charlie Manuel discuss a conversation he with Ted Williams about their conflicting philosophies of hitting. Williams believed the bat took a long arc reach the ball with maximum power. Manuel liked a quick bat, with more power generated from the wrist and forearms. In my last swing review, Craig talked about the my club needs to sweep a long way from inside to get to the ball, and I definitely lack the clubhead speed I would like to have. I can see how Charlie's thinking translates to the release in a Rotary Swing. I am on the right track comparing the swing arcs and swing speed?

A wider radius/arc can be very beneficial. Free Speed. But, it has drawbacks. You have to be very patient. Conversely if you have lag you can be quicker tempoed and crack the proverbial whip. Think Davis Love vs Sergio Garcia. Both hit it a long way. One with width/radius and the other with leverage/quickness/wrists.
