All, Just joined and am working my way through the Axiom and DEAD swing approaches.

HI All, Just joined and am working my way through the Axiom and DEAD swing approaches. As I understand it, both have very similar backswing components, emphasizing loading up the right leg while keeping the hip in place and simplifying things by focusing on the right shoulder moving behind the head. Both also have similar approaches to the downswing--focusing on the hip rotation vs. any arm movement (squat to square or taking the merry-go -round). However, both downswing approaches seem to pull my hands forward initially, which I thought was a no-go move. Maybe this is covered later, but I didn't want to jump ahead in the program; however, I didn't see this issue addressed in related Faults and Fixes . Should I continue to do reps with these moves and accept the hand movement? Should I be fighting to keep the hands/shoulders back ? Thanks, Jon

Hello Jon. In both sets of drills you need to shy away from shoulder spin and throwing the hands out. Take a look at Fix Your Release - Trail Shoulder Back in the Arms Section of Step 1.
