I’m a chronic right side pushing early extender.

I’m a chronic right side pushing early extender. Recently, to try to transition better with pulling from the left instead of pushing off my right foot, I started doing the dead drill with a basketball sized ball between my knees to sort of drop the ball by moving my left leg. I’m about 2000 reps in and have to say it’s working better. I can do the drill now with or without the help of the ball, and at a quick pace. I’m going to do the last 1000 reps adding the left arm and sometimes the club. I couldn’t hit balls left arm only before and now I can make pretty good contact most of the time as long as I focus on the lower body and transitioning back to the left quickly. My question is besides lag what is swinging left arm only doing for me? Is it helping the overall movement? Building lead side strength? I guess what are all the benefits of being able to hit balls well this way like Chuck does?

The club will square itself and it's very easy to control loft and clubface angle without a ton of manipulation. You are allowing physics to do the work for you. The lead side release allows you to take advantage of physics (push vs pull). A lot of the guess work is removed. Move your body correctly and let the club go. More for an effortless type swing.
