The rotary swing movement is exactly how power and force are generated in.

The rotary swing movement is exactly how power and force are generated in Taichi; from the ground up using rotational (spiraling) movements around the waist while opening and closing the "kua" (the "hinge" between the groin and the inner thigh). The movement has the feeling of "reeling silk". The waist or core is like the axle of a cart and the arms like the wheels. When the axle (waist) moves it transfers rotational energy to the wheels (arms); the axle (waist) does most of the work and the wheels (arms) just follow.
