Has anyone tried to start the backswing with an early backward wrist set?

Has anyone tried to start the backswing with an early backward wrist set? Is this early wrist set recommended? I have tried this with much worse results than I already have. http://www.golfswingsecretsrevealed.com/index1.htm

Hello Conrad. We have a few videos discussing this topic (Using Your Wrists for Speed in Golf Swing, Right Wrist in the Takeaway, and Role of the Right Arm). However, here are some big points of concern. 1) Lack of rotation - When players start their swing with the hands/wrists they will tend not to rotate. Loading the wrists early can move the club a great distance without the need to load/recruit muscle fiber going back. 2) It shortens the radius of the swing. You want a Wide-Narrow-Wide shape. If you start narrow you will tend to be wide at the wrong point coming down. 3) Tension - If you create excessive tension in the hands you want to release that tension. Loading early makes the hands want to fire/release the lag angle. You can't hold the angle throughout the swing. 4) The club face will tend to be very closed in the takeaway.
