Everyone and happy new year to all!

Hi, everyone and happy new year to all! This winter I would like, additionally to work on my golf swing fundamentals work also on my club head speed. I’m a single digit golfer measuring 5’ 7’’ and 64 years old. Lack of distance with the driver have become, over time, an important factor that I think limit my potential to progress I find or at the least is very frustrating. After many years I came back as a member to my home course last year. It’s amazing to see that I don’t play the same golf course anymore with that drastic decline in swing speed. Par 5 are way longer (don't get some of them in two anymore), second shots on par 4’s are with a much longer club and all of this despite having been fit last summer with a driver for maximizing my performance off the tee. I like to practice on top of this but that doesn't bring speed back unfortunatly. The issue I’m facing is that I live in Québec, Canada and winter here are very cold with a lot of snow so I have to train inside my house with 8’ ceiling. Recents visits to an inside golf facility confirmed that I can barely reach 88/89 mph with a driver now. While some swing produced a better striking and a bit more distance (thanks to Rotary Swing) there is no way around my inefficiency to produce club head speed to gain distance off especially when my driver is concern. Is there a training protocol/training aids I could work on considering my limitations (ceiling) that will help me gain some speed back and be more efficient this coming golf season? Thanks, :thanks: Luc

Hello Luc. My suggestion would be impact bag/cube. Given the limitations of space and the weather. You need to feel whip/speed again. I think the cube is a great indoor tool to practice sequencing and getting back the feel for speed in the club head.
Check out Fit for Golf with Mike Carroll. Also, Speed Sticks can help (but may not be a solution considering your space limitations)
