This is one of those classic examples of where golf just confuses the hell out of me!

This is one of those classic examples of where golf just confuses the hell out of me! So I have spent days practicing my takeaway without moving the hips and now see that some of us have to move the hips….a lot. I suspect I am one of those. I try to keep my left side totally passive so I can take away with just the right chest/scap/oblique but my pelvis hardly turns and then I have massive issues with slide etc To get my knee round to the toe line/ball I have to get some good left side turn but how can I get that without the head moving off ? thanks Rob K

Hello Robert. The head will move due to left side push. You are allowing it to get pulled by your trail side going back to avoid the head movement. Side note: Depending on flexibility some players will need more hip rotation early. The key is to not keep them completely static, or over turned. If you pull/rotate from the torso you will start to feel how the shoulder blade glide starts to pull the right hip automatically behind you.
