So - re-watching 5 minutes to a perfect release (one of my Fave vids) - it.

So - re-watching 5 minutes to a perfect release (one of my Fave vids) - it suggests that the body should stop rotating to enable release to occur using arms/rotating of hands (left hand). I recently had a lesson which, to be fair to the pro, focussed on sequencing and the correct body movements but he did try and get me to use my Sternum as the centre of the swing and continue rotating through the release point. So I guess the question - or clarification - is when Chuck says stop rotating and allow the release to happen - does he really mean that?

Hello Stephen. Yes. in a lead side release the club has to release independently of the body. The body needs to decelerate so the club can accelerate. The pro sounds like he is teaching a body release which links club head speed to rotation of the upper torso which will be slower and hard on the spine. Take a look at Arms vs. Body Release in the Golf Swing and How to Decelerate Your Hips for Effortless Power Videos.
