My question is are you advocating on the backswing rotate the hands open and.

My question is are you advocating on the backswing rotate the hands open and then on the downswing rotate the hands closed ,( when I started playing golf I kept my hands 90 degrees to path on the back swing and 90 degrees to the path on the down swing square to square . When I started taking lessons I was taught to rotate the hands, I find it hard to time the rotation up ,I could play not to bad with this swing ,but at times I would be out on timing ,so I would end up having big numbers on the score card. I have gone back to square to square with my hands ,it is working pretty good. Is there any fault in this square to square take away? Dan email [email protected]

Hello Dan. Yes. The club will rotate in the swing. But, you don't manually make it rotate. Timing shouldn't be a question because the club is designed to do this for you. For example: the takeaway to reach toe up barely has any rotation. i think you are picturing more of a roll/roll technique which would be timing dependent. A square to the spine takeaway would lead to a loss of club head speed and more of a body rotation release.
