I am struggling with losing lag by pushing with my left(lead) thumb.

I am struggling with losing lag by pushing with my left(lead) thumb. When I change direction into the downswing my wrists fully cock and the shaft pushes against my thumb which of course pushes back, I don’t think I can stop it. However the Axiom system says I shouldn’t change direction into the downswing, I just keep going clockwise into the downswing and the change of direction only happens when I post up and release. Is my thinking correct, if l concentrate on the clockwise motion will the thumb push disappear?

Hello Harry. Clockwise motion will aid in the shallowing and creating of lag. But, the thumb push won't go away automatically with it. The thing that will help with the clockwise is the trail wrist will tend to increase in flexion more for the lag taking some pressure of the lead and thumb so you may not feel as much thumb loading during this phase.
