Anthony, I’m not looking for compliments, I’m Just trying to understand how.

Hi Anthony, I’m not looking for compliments, I’m Just trying to understand how this goat swing works. My swing before this was heavily left side driven. I used my lower body as the power source, but as Chuck noted, most of us humans just cannot turn off the arms to the level needed to make this swing pattern consistent. So I try this swing and you comment that I need to use arms less and body more?? This seems contradictory to the message Chuck is sending? So Chuck says go from heel to heel so I put my weight back further on my heels and you say move weight forward? I see my weight clearly moving to the left side even before I reach the top and staying there through the downswing and you tell me to move weight to left side earlier?? Should I not shift at all to my right? Chuck says move the backswing with my left shoulder. I do this and you say too much sway?? Chuck says exaggerate the move. Can you see why I’m confused? Either I am completely missing the point of this swing or you guys need to get on same page. I’m lost in Jacksonville. Paul

Hey Paul, I really appreciate you sharing more background information with me regarding your golf journey. Here is my first question back to you. If you were lead side driven, why are you attempting to switch to the goat code swing? Chuck has acknowledged there is more than one way to swing the golf club. You mention "heel to heel" feeling. Yes that is a feeling, but the way the swing develops, your weight distribution changes throughout the feet. If you setup to the golf ball with your weight already in your heels, you are off balance. Your legs are not going to be able to work dynamically with your arms because you are unsteady to begin with. This explains why your body is going into early extension. You are fighting balance while moving a club around your body. Too much of a good thing can be detrimental to your process. Chuck has also acknowledged that "pulling the trail shoulder" or "pushing the lead shoulder" accomplishes the same thing, which is full rotation and width in your backswing. It is personal to the individual. If you push too much with the lead shoulder, your head will move off the ball, and you will have to push from your trail side to balance out the equation on the downswing. So when you shift weight to the left, you have to work together with your arms coming down. If you fire your arms faster than you legs can get posted(stable), than you bring flipping and loss of shaft lean into the picture. Your body has to move with your arms, they have to work together. It is not simply throwing your arms from the top and NOT using your body. This why the 4 pressure shifts video is important, along with the other videos on the goat code on how to use the body in the golf swing. What types of misses do you struggle with? What are your goals when it comes to improving your golf game? I want to help and look forward to working with you
