About
Hello Everyone,
My name is Micah Howard and I am a passionate RST instructor. I have recently moved my instruction from Myrtle Beach, SC to Greenville, SC. I grew up in Columbia, SC where every child seems to have some introduction to the game at a young age. I took few lessons growing up because I never agreed or comprehended why the instructor would have me doing certain things and always was left hanging with tips that hurt me more than anything. I soon became what I thought was a "student of the game". I consumed my life by reading and studying books and videos like a mad scientist in order to find the keys to this "simple" motion (as many authors will tell). The problem with the simplicity that these books claim, is that every author would contradict the next. This conflict makes it very confusing on who has the right ideas, or if they even had the right ideas. This testing of ideas put extreme pressure and wear on my body as I would "pound" balls on the range all day looking for the answers in the ball flight. After doing this for so long, and having lower back injuries from an 8 year military career, my body came to a breaking point where medical doctors told me I couldn't play golf anymore. Determined to continue my passion, I went on the hunt for the "right" swing that could get me back on the course.
While attending the Golf Academy of America in Myrtle Beach, I was introduced to RST methods by one of my swing instructors, Chris Brode. Immediately I was hooked. I probably watched and read every video and article on the website the first week. Chuck Quinton's developments of the golf swing were almost like the cure to a disease that had plagued me my entire life. As I became more deeply involved in RST, I would teach my swing students the methods and they would immediately see improvement to not only their game, but physical condition after a round or practice. I knew that this wasn't another gimmick in a sea of tips or "band-aid" fixes. I found that RST could really get elderly, youth and everyone in between to achieve full 90 degree shoulder turn, proper weight shift, lag, distance, accuracy, and the list goes on.
After becoming Level 1 certified, I have been able to shadow Chuck at his lessons and clinics in Orlando in order to bring (what I believe to be) the gift of RST to the Carolinas and surrounding areas. My ultimate goal and passion now is to teach this method to as many as I can so that he/she can reach a playing level that they never even fathomed possible. Simultaneously, I strive towards knowing that my dedicated students are never told, "Golf is killing your body".
