Hi Craig. In Chuck’s goat drill video… 1- when he demonstrates the twisting/stretching vs turning it looks like he is reverse pivoting vs prior videos where it looked more like his led shoulder turned back more behind the ball. Is that just an artifact of he trying to emphasize the move for the video or should we see a more side bend as he described even if it looks reverse pivoted? 2- he said in trail side pattern we should not shift (unlike what we have been told in the past). Did I misunderstand or is he just saying the weight shift comes later and more simultaneous with the turn forward?

Hello Gerald. Definitely not a reverse pivot. More a visual for the movement. You still turn behind the ball even though the spine will be going into extension. You still move laterally back to the lead side but it's more a byproduct of the back swing sequence and moving into side bend in transition. Chuck is trying to keep players from diving too hard into the lead leg and shifting excessive mass too soon.
