I’ve been working hard on getting my hands in front of the ball at impact.

Hi, I’ve been working hard on getting my hands in front of the ball at impact. My focus has been on the lateral shift, but today on the range, I sort of just tried to get my hands to my left thigh before impact. By the time my hands got there the left thigh hand cleared. My release felt effortless and pulled me to nice balanced finish. It felt like impact happened when my hands had already started to move back inside the arc of the swing. Am I making sense? Is this what I should be feeling?

Hello Andrew. You shouldn't try to get your hands forward. This usually hurts impact. But, what it sounds like is that trying to delay until the lead thigh helped you stay in supination so your pivot had more time to get your hands up to proper impact/forward lean.
