Hi. I have a question about the 9:3 drill.

Hi. I have a question about the 9:3 drill. I tried writing a comment directly on that video but for some reason the "comment" tab was not responding. On the 9:3 video, chuck is demonstrating that the timing of the left hand coming into impact occurs at the same time that the left hip and leg post up. However, in the DEAD drill videos and my work with Craig, I'm positing up first and then letting the left arm drop into impact from the momentum of the left side pull. What Chuck is demonstrating in the 9:3 video makes since but I'm confused on the difference between that and what I'm working. Thanks, Scott

DEAD is a sequenced drill. You are trying to train your brain to move in a particular order. In the real swing you move so fast that you need to make sure the body sequence is the correct. Most players get the arms going first so this is a way to teach the correct order. The 9 to 3 is so small you don't have time to post before hands reach trail thigh. Think the Tour Pro Downswing Sequence Drill. You have to hit the kinetic chain/forces/peaks to have to correct payoff. Shift post release. 9 to 3 just a smaller/tighter sequence.
