I read this article.

I read this article. How do you think? "While looking at the ball isn’t a bad thing in the context of the set-up or even during the swing, it definitely isn’t required to be good at golf. More often than not, overemphasis of keeping your eye on the ball leads to many poor swing movements. Our vision is by far our strongest sense and will drive many of our intentions in any athletic endeavor. I find that most people that “try” to keep their eye on the ball struggle in two specific areas. The first is poor torso rotation and backswing position." "To free yourself of “ball dependency,” I recommend hitting shots with your eyes closed and your eyes on the target. Start with small chips, and work your way up to half-shots and you might be surprised at the results."

While I do agree the fixation may lead to other errors. I wouldn't promote the head movement ala Duval or Sorenstam for you. Being a lead side releaser you may have some in the backswing. But, it is imperative that the head stays down on the ground during the release because you don't want any shoulder movement. Where the eyes go the head goes and the shoulders follow suit. Head down from impact to 3 O'Clock. After that fair game.
