I understand that this is suppose to be an athletic movement.

I understand that this is suppose to be an athletic movement. But, since we are already breaking down each movement.. (For a right handed golf swing) Once you get loaded into the right side, what muscle is firing or body movement is happening to start the transition/weight shift/squat to square? What is it that is bringing your body/your body weight back to the left side and on the left foot? As far as I have heard, you are told not to push off the right foot or use the right leg/hip. I believe, you are also not suppose to start pushing the left foot until after squat to square. Are you dropping your weight slightly and falling into your left side? (Finally found the answer in a live lesson video! It is falling into the left side.). Is it falling just left or falling diagonally left and back towards your glute? (Im linking the video I found with this post.). https://rotaryswing.com/golf-instruction-videos/bonus-series-basics/live-online-lessons/sequencing-golf-downswing-live-lesson At 16:08 in the video he says that “the hips are starting to turn a little bit”. This is done through the falling into the left side/the movement laterally of the left knee/and the loading of the glute. Nothing to do with the turning the right hip. Correct me if Im wrong. Also just making sure these are correct.. Is it correct that you are loading about 90% of your weight on your right side? Is it correct that we are trying to maintain our right bend/axis tilt in the backswing; and then creating sightly more throughout the swing? I have seen players advocating lengthening their right side (back muscles and obliques) and shortening/contracting their left side on the back swing, and then firing oppositely in the downswing. We are not doing that with the rotary swing, right? Thanks for your time.

Hello Justin. It can feel like you are falling into your lead side. Take a look at Which Muscles to Feel in Golf Swing Transition. You are pulling with your inner thigh adductors as your oblique helps square the hips. In Axiom the pressure orbit with the trail foot will cause the hips to shift. All depends on which side dominance you are wanting to work with. You want to get about 70-80 % in right side during backswing. You want to maintain axis tilt in the backswing and it will slightly increase during the downswing (secondary axis tilt) due to shifting of the weight/pelvis. Only a slight increase. You don't need to manually create this.
