I am swinging quite well now with my irons (PW - 7i).

I am swinging quite well now with my irons (PW - 7i). However, I am struggling with my with longer shaft clubs especially with my 5 wood and Driver. With both clubs I have a tendency to hit the ground before the ball. If I stand more erect, I don't hit the ground. I'm questioning my setup, particularly forward tilt. My forward tilt increases as I go from 7i to wedges. Should my forward continue to decrease as a go from 7i to my 5 wood?, and then to my Driver? Or should my arms extend outward more as the shaft gets longer? I am 5'9" tall. I would assume someone 6 ft tall would have more forward tilt than me. Is that true? What should my forward tilt angle be for my 4w and Driver?

Hello Charles. I can't give you an exact number on what your tilt should be. Based on genetics (torso length, arm length, etc.) But, you will have less hinge from the hip's the longer the club. My only concern would be it's not the hinge, but more a lack of weight shift, hip clearing, or lag angle causing the fat shot with longer clubs. Sounds more like you are throwing the angle too soon.
