Chuck This new programme is just what I need right now.

Hi Chuck This new programme is just what I need right now. Great that it is starting with Consistency, as that's what we all need, and for the competitive among us consistency is how you win games (handicap after all levels out true performance). I had made a (poor) start on the Compression drill in Spring, usually trying to go too fast too soon, and looking on video, although tempo looked and felt about right, I see that my right arm was bending and Craig immediately pointed out the need for proper weight shift. The emphasis on the checkpoints and keeping right arm straight ensures a proper takeaway driven by rotation from the start, so I think this will be a low risk change to start working on even though we are all now playing matches. And if it helps my chipping then all the better! Looking forward to seeing how the monitoring will work alongside the programme, not just reps, but results tracking, which will provide clear guidance as when to move on to the next stage. For someone brand new to golf however, would they be able to start at Phase 1 (after doing the introductory setup and grip material)? Would they need to have some understanding of the correct body movement e.g. 1-3 of the Dead Drill? The penny really dropped for me when the Dead Drill came out in Autumn 2019, but I got a bit fixated with the backswing, and it was only when Axiom emerged in Spring 2021 that I managed to move on to the transition and downswing. I never really got properly onto the release which is why I think that this new programme is perfect for me right now, especially as it's based on the 9-3 hitting balls. You mention a target of 150 yds with a 7 iron, will that be the same target for ladies? At the moment I hit about 105 yds and if I get a good strike then it might go 125 yds (measured in real play with a golf watch). But they go pretty straight and I don't get too many mis-hits these days. I'm sticking with my irons to try to improve them without the distraction of trying to hit fairway woods. I also invested in some new irons, after trying out my daughter's irons and feeling much less tired after 18 holes. I estimated the swingweights of my old beginner irons as C9 and my new Cobra irons are a C3 (using http://golf.okrasa.eu/clubs/swingweight-en/sw-measurement/) . I definitely swing these new irons much more freely and consistently. Being lighter they are of course easier to swing, but I think my old clubs really were just too heavy to learn good technique. Just mentioning this in case it's a factor for anyone else. Thanks to you all for lots of great new content! Diane

Hi Diane no the new program does not require previous knowledge of any thing as the DEAD Drill and AXIOM are built into it
