New member here. I am looking at the site and immediately feeling overwhelmed and confused. The video that got me to sign up introduced the GOAT system and talked about not firing the hips, and that swing transition is not something to work on, flat wrist, etc. I get on the site and the GOAT system seems to be an afterthought. I am 70yo so I watched the lesson with the 80yo and it's emphasizing positions, firing the hips, using the shoulder blade to pull back the arms. Is this positional instruction or getting the GOAT feel? I also watched a YT vid that claimed concentrating on trail foot weight transfer would solve everything, but I can't find that instructional video on the site. As I indicated, I'm confused. The hundreds of videos on this site also has me a bit overwhelmed. If the message is simple, then I don't expect a complex presentation. Some guidance would be appreciated. I must be missing something.

Hello Rory. The GOAT System is new to the RST Site. There will be more material to follow as the site grows in that direction. The video you are referring to with Alton (80yr) is both GOAT and instructional. Sometimes a player needs to correct some fatal flaws they've ingrained over the years and needs drills to overcome a specific hurdle. Just like going through some throwing mechanics to clean up a pitcher's move. Pitcher knows how to throw already but needs refinement. Axiom is the trail foot movement you are talking about. This is another way to swing the club. To further clarify there are millions of ways to swing the club. Lead side dominant (DEAD and older RST). Trail side dominant (Axiom). GOAT (effortless and based more on feel). I understand you can get overwhelmed by the vast majority of content on the site. My suggestion is to get a swing review that way your instructor can tailor the plan for your needs and you will know exactly what you need to work on. Leave in the notes what you are trying to get out of your swing and where you want to take it. All methods mentioned will build a great swing, but you may need a few instructional drills to get over positions that you have ingrained over the years.
