Craig Seeing some definite progress with my short game.

Hi Craig Seeing some definite progress with my short game. Putting (using core) and the ladder drill is really helping me to calibrate length of putts and starting to feel much more natural. Core-driven chipping is also much more solid and reliable with 60 degree, SW and Gap wedge. On Tuesday after just doing some short game practice (mainly putting) the day before, my full swing felt different, with improved weight shift. Unfortunately this evaporated after about 5 holes. Today I skipped ahead a bit :raisehand: to 4.15 the 80 yd wedge shot face on, and Chuck gives a really good explanation of the lateral movement. Specifically how the trail hip starts moving towards the target at the top of the swing - and thereby starting the lateral movement back to the lead side. This is the trigger feeling I've been looking for! I still have to play while I go through all the GOAT code training and I have a KO coming up. I'd noticed that if I kept my legs more in a V during the backswing (as at setup) and just move pressure, that weight shift was easier. Using the core to initiate the swing also stopped me over-swinging and going too far over onto the trail foot. Now doing both of those (pressure shift using core) and tuning into the feeling of my trail hip moving back towards the target at the top I am able to initiate the lateral shift much more easily. I'd stumbled on that feeling in recent weeks but wasn't able to pin it down. Swing speed and path look much better now and swing feels more 'free'. I'm working through the program as advised and having a go at the assessments to gauge progress as well as how it's working on the course. (Also found Chuck's detailed explanation of supination awesome in 4.14 and 4.15. It's a way off for me, but I can already see how my wrist positions are making it impossible at the moment.) Keep up the good work! Looking forward to tonight's webinar - although I have to watch the recorded version. Thanks! Diane

Thanks Diane. Glad you are enjoying the webinars. Thank you for going back and making sure to take your assesments to gauge progress. I know it can be tempting to bounce around, but happy to read you are going back to master the short game. It will make your full swing feel different because the connection to how the who swing works starts there.
