I think this one unlocked my understanding of what you're teaching with the trail side swing. If I can put it into words, what you're trying to get us to do is almost going from a 'reverse pivot' in the backswing, allowing the weight of the club or in this case kettlebell to drive momentum back down through the ground and using the lead leg to propel us into another 'reverse pivot' on the other side. Basically not actively trying to rotate but essentially more of a swinging pendulum motion. From there if we were to let go of the kettle bell it would launch down the line, which in the golf swing would be where the snap of the wrists would happen using the J release. That's the best explanation I can give but is that correct for the most part? I really hope it is because I feel like I actually understand what I'm trying to do now haha

Please explain the difference between pressure and weight. I don't understand how you can have pressure on the lead side without a weight shift to the right.

Pressure is measured by force which is mass times acceleration or as weight is static.

just seen later part of video with Kyle and you actually dont go down on backswing, but on downswing which is what i thought was correct from all other goat code videos

Chuck, this segment has completely thrown me now compared to all your other videos. You are now staying over LEFT knee despite all other videos saying you should move weight back on to inside right leg on backswing? My current pro of 26 yrs always said you needed to stay over left kneeaa and this has dropped head down , but you and others have said one shouldnt go down with head on way back and you actually go down on backswing when you show this move . Very confused now and cant think about left side aswell when trying to do all winter drills and fascia turn and stretch and then into downswing and side bend .

Thanks Chuck - just trying this at the office with a wedge - wow - this is awesome - I feel so much smoother in my backswing and getting a solid side bend with that hip movement and left knee move ---and feel that I am wound up right to fire at the ball. I can't wait to take this to the trackman range.

I have been initiating the bswing with the trail hip working back and around to create some tilt but w/ the big idea in this vid,, I should prob start with the lead hip starting this action. If this is a fundamental, then I assume that I should do the same in the pitching motion also?

Yes if you go back through some of the short game videos, I talk about how the head actually moves forward in the back swing, which is the counterbalance move

Thanks Chuck for putting this together! I understand this kind of force for driver and I assume if we are going for control type of Iron shots, we still need to get this angle of the hips on the way back so that you counteract it on way down to use that vertical force on the left leg to straighten? As you saw in my latest post on the goat drill video and my swing I posted, I think i am just slow to straighten and I may not getting that right hip higher than left on the way back. Using the kettle bell and that with the waggle drill could be a key hopefully to start getting that shaft lean and compression consistently.

Yep, the movement is the same with every shot, you just don't move as aggressively with the irons to maintain more control.
