One of my favorite drills that will help you make more putts inside of 10 feet.
all right my next favorite drill so you're gonna have two drills for this doesn't sound like a lot because you don't need a lot your putting stroke has gotten so much simpler already that you don't need a lot of complicated fancy stuff going through your head when you're rolling in a putt the visualization drill of seeing a line and an arc on the ground for a breaking putt is all you really need and then this drill helps you be authoritative and this is really for you know putts you know from three feet to maybe six seven eight feet this one's about seven feet eight feet and what i've done is i've put a ball on the edge of the cup where i want the ball to go into the hole if this was a breaking putt i would put it over here but i've put it on here and it's got the a little logo on the ground here a little ritz carlton logo that's where our golf academy is so it's it's giving me a specific point on that ball to focus on i'm not just thinking about the ball in general i'm looking at a very very specific point on the ball and what i'm trying to do is in this drill is i'm trying to hit the ball into that ball obviously seems kind of common sensical but a lot of times because the ball is underground it's kind of hard for us to visualize where that ball is going we kind of just see it dropping off into space this gives you something to hit on the lip of the cup to be a little more authoritative because you're trying to knock another ball into the hole so many times we don't really get the speed right because we just kind of we don't have a good visual of how fast the ball should roll into the hole if you think about hitting something else into the hole it makes it kind of simple so now what i'm going to do is i'm just going to set up to the putt and my focus point i can still use the same thing i can combine the visualization drill with this so i can see a line on the ground straight from my ball right into the center of that ritz carlton logo and what i'm going to do is focus on getting the ball to roll right into that logo so now i got both balls to go in but what i was really doing is thinking about hitting the ball into that ball and it helps me make a more authoritative stroke rather than kind of being really delicate and sensitive so many times people leave the ball short of the hole well if i just barely trickled it in where it just barely fell into the lip it wouldn't even hit that ball hard enough to knock them both in there you want both balls to go in the hole like you saw there so if you combine the visualization drill with imagining something on the lip of the cup so you stop being so delicate and dainty with your putting stroke you're going to have some confidence in your putting now that you you've got a simple stroke you know the ball is going to start online and this visualization drill and the ball on the lip of the cup drill is going to help you start draining a lot more putts
