Bonus Challenge 2 is where you become the master of your own destiny by learning how to control the trajectory and spin rates of your shots. You will be able to hit it high over trees and low throw the wind to learn ball flight control like never before.
This bonus challenge is all about altering trajectory.
Now that you're starting to make a little bit bigger swing and you've got some speed into your swing, we want to start being able to master the height of the ball.
And we do that by with our lead hand.
You don't want to be slamming your trail hand down on the ground because then you're going to start taking really deep divots.
And that's going to be make it difficult to get good strikes on the ball, good consistent control and good face contact.
So you're going to start to alter what you do with your lead wrist.
Now you don't have to be doing this at your full lead arm parallel to the ground length.
You can start out really small, just like you did with the normal nine to three, where we're just taking the club to parallel and start altering your trajectory that way.
So at first I'll just hit my normal one.
So we have kind of a baseline.
So I'm going to go just a little baby shot.
You can see that flew about two feet high in the air.
Now, how would I alter that trajectory to bring it up?
Well, I'm going to start to let my left wrist start to add a little bit of release.
So if I had it maybe there at impact on that one, I'm going to start to alter it so that it goes to a little bit of a cupped position.
Now watch what happens as I do that.
Now you can see that ball, which is the tiniest amount of deviation in my lead wrist.
The ball flight went not two feet high, but five or six feet high.
Now, how would I bring it down?
I'm going to bow that lead wrist slightly.
I'm going to start to change it.
So I'm going to, my vision is that I'm going to take all the loft off my seven iron and try to get the ball to roll along the ground.
So now I got that ball extremely low.
And all I did was bow that left wrist.
So now I can start to manipulate trajectory just by getting a feel for how the lead harm, the lead hand controls the loft and the shaft lean at impact.
So I want you to play around with this in this bonus challenge to start to, to mess around with getting different trajectories.
Because when you go to the next bonus challenge, we're going to put all of them all together.
