Here's my Hackmotion data after shooting 66. The point of this is to give you an idea of a consistent and controllable release pattern with a trail hand throw. You don't have to match perfectly, just understand the big picture.

hey guys so many of you are asking for updated data with the hack motion and how to use it and I first thing I want to do is I want to show you my graph because a lot of times we look at something like the tour player data like Olison and we use that as like the de facto standard and think there's no other way to do it of course that's not true so as I just mentioned in a previous video I played in this tournament this weekend she played pretty well hit the ball fine and my data of course doesn't look exactly like Olison's it doesn't have to what you need to understand is kind of like the broad strokes so one thing you'll notice is that I gradually flatten and lose that extension I still have a little bit of extension at the top four or five degrees which is perfect and then from there I start and just for you those of you aren't familiar the extension is the orange or orangish yellow line here and so as I go into the downswing I'm just continuing to gradually flatten I have kind of a nice smooth curve to my extension and then impact I'm negative six degrees I've you know bowed that left wrist six degrees at impact and that's getting me to deal off the club for me I can hit the ball very predictably like this with a very gradual slope and that's kind of what you want to see with these lines it doesn't have to be perfectly flat I can do that but for me I have to engage my left hand a lot more which is very weak as you guys know and so if I just kind of let it do its thing and I'm focusing more on getting ready to throw with the right this is what naturally happens with my wrist same thing with ulnar deviation I have a bit more deviation than Olison at the top or throughout the swing but again it's a very gradual smooth curve and then at impact you know I unleash a lot of speed right here I go from plus eight to negative 44 so thank you youtuber so that's when I'm releasing my right hand that's when I'm throwing the club head is right here I start to feel that I'm throwing it immediately my intention is throwing it I kind of think of the downswing starting right here right when I start that club back I am already preparing for the downswing the downswing starts during the takeaway I'm always getting ready to throw with this trail side pattern and then as it starts to unwind it happens very very quickly right here and that's when you see note the difference or note the clear out flexion extension here note the direct correlation between ulnar or ulnar deviation as I begin to release the club and rotation as I mentioned adding speed and squaring the face are one in the same and you can see that those two ramp up right at the same time and intersect at impact and that is what you're looking for to get a proper release with a square club face so if you're kind of wondering what your data should look like anything in this ballpark with a throwing pattern is fantastic this is a very stable release pattern this is very boring this is gonna hit a lot of very straight golf shots you can see my wrist right before impact you know right here I'm at negative four with flexion extension the orange number and it just stays really constant and I just have a nice stable boring flat golf shot so there's not a lot dramatic a lot of dramatic stuff happening so again don't have to make it exactly like Olsen's you what you need to do is use this data to find when you hit your perfect shots your best shots that feel great to you that swings the way the swing feels the way you want it to feel what does that look like

Hi Chuck! I’m considering buying the Hackmotion unit, but don’t have the coin for the pro model right now. Would it still be beneficial to start with the core software and focus on extension/flexion, then worry about deviation and rotation later? Or do recommend the pro software out of the gates? Don’t know if flexion/extension then just watching ball flight is even worth the time. Thank you!

Its still very helpful just for flexion and extension for sure and can always upgrade later.

Chuck, I am really excited about the GOAT code and the Hack Motion [HM] system. I've had the PRO system for a couple days and am trying to make sense of the feedback data and how I can use it to refine my swing. Is it simply a matter of playing/range sessions and tagging in the HM software the best struck balls to isolate those curves & data elements. Then try to make those curves/data elements repeat in practice?

Hi Patrick, that's the gist of it but you shouldn't feel like you're shooting in the dark. If you follow the GOAT Code videos your hands will start to match these patterns naturally.

Is there any chance your data could be included in the HackMotion benchmark? I know it’s a separate company but I’m sure you’ve sent them some customers and it would be good for us try to implement the “throwing” pattern.

I've discussed that with them and put in a request for this feature to be added.

Weird I go from +20 at address, transition down to -3 on takeaway, but than hit +17 at top. Then 0 at impact. So although I might see green and green positions, I don’t think +20>-3>+17 is exactly what I want to be seeing when looking at the data. I must be cupping at the top! But because I saw green at the top I assumed I was fine. But now that I’m looking at the actual HackMotion numbers I see that although it’s green, this pattern still isn’t proper and could be a big part of my consistency issues.

Yep, that means your wrists aren't stable during the backswing and there is something major going on

I try and use the HackMotion while I practice on trackman. My trajectory is always 90+ but precision is in the 30s. I can’t seem to have a consistent clubface, even with a pitching wedge. With track man I’m always green up top, but red and yellow extension at impact. If I do a subtle bit of motorcycle drill with wrist I can get impact green. But ball still flies with lots of hooks or pushed right. If I turn on practice club face mode(trackman), I have to avoid the motorcycle feeling, and feel like my wrist doesn’t change what so ever, than I can get more consistent club face, but than impact is red with a flip. How can I be both square at impact AND proper wrist at impact??

This means there are some major things you're not realizing happening in your swing and you need someone to peak under the hood to help you understand what's really going on

Thanks for sharing your graph data. Do you have drills specific to keeping the extension in or gradually letting it out like you do. My data shows my wrist moves into flexion and than back to some extension at the top. I am struggling to understand the correct movements.

HI Jeff, if you ask the GOAT AI this question it should get you the right answer.

Hey Master Chuck! I must say, I've been utilising this goat code since it came out. I keep refining and I find I am hitting more consistent shots than ever before. I wanted to know if you will go I'm depth with the goat code when it comes to high and low shots, and also draws and fades? Cheers man! Thank you!

Hi Dean, that stuff is all done with the hands really, not much to it. But I can cover some more on it in the future for sure. If you look back at older videos here on the subject, nothing will have changed.

Beyond the smooth or gentle breaking of the wrists the most significant data is the “rotation” of the left wrist, both to the top and through the hitting area. How is this rotation being achieved without “fanning” the club open or allowing it to get sucked inside too much? Do we have a video on this?

Hi George, I'm uploading a video now on the throwing motion that leads to this release, it will go out soon
